The truth is, this improvement in process control allows the welding of thinner wall tubing with a better chance of a perfect weld. Welding thinner walls, the laser can control the penetration depth of the weld to 0.005mm, which allows for the Double Pass weld to be performed. The Double Pass weld is a mythical technique that involves welding each joint 2 times for strength, unlike any other welding process.
