Santa Cruz Nomad 5 CC Factory Frameset Enduro Goodness Back for its fifth generation, the Santa Cruz Nomad stays true to its long-travel, 27. 5" roots, but now it is a little slacker and more capable. Complete with 170mm of travel front and rear, the Santa Cruz Nomad is an absolute brawler and ready to smash any line. Santa Cruz lengthened the Nomad's wheelbase, slackened the headtube angle, made the seat tube angle steeper, increased the reach, and made the chain stay lengths proportional to the size of the frame. These additions all enhance the Nomad's capability on the downhill and provide maximum stability at high speeds. The Nomad continues with a progressive leverage curve that is capable of working with air or coil shocks, but opted for a longer-stroke rear shock, which provides a more cushioned feeling when tackling those chunky descents. Make no mistake, even though the Nomad is longer and slacker, it doesn't mean it has lost the agility and playfulness of the Nomad's previous versions. 27. 5" wheels coupled with proportional chain stay lengths make the Nomad fly through corners and feel very nimble for how much travel it harnesses. The Nomad features Flip Chip technology, located on the rear shock mount, which allows for adjustments to the geometry, making the Nomad slacker, longer, and lower, ideal for days at the bike park. Nomad's Carbon CC frame includes full internal cable routing, an integrated chainguard, an integrated mud fender for the rear shock, an integrated rubber chain stay protector, and downtube protectors.
